Description:

Purpose and Need The purpose of the proposed project is to address the deficiencies and non-standard features at the northbound State Route 110 (SR-110) and Interstate 5 (I-5) Connecter Sidehill Viaduct (Bridge No. 53-2225G) in Los Angeles County.  This project is the retaining wall portion in support of the bridge rail upgrade project. 

 

Description of work The current scope of the project requires a retaining wall to be constructed to support the shoulder widening and the new concrete barrier of the Bridge Rail Upgrade project (07-36930). The existing overhead sign structures need to be upgraded to meet the new wind load standards. The overhead sign panels will also need to be upgraded to the current retroreflective sign standards. Additional work includes upgrading the crash cushion, highway safety lighting, roadway signs and installing rumble strips along the shoulder.
