Description:

The California Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the North County Transportation Coalition (NCTC), proposes to close gaps between intersections by adding lane segments on SR-14 at the following locations: • S/B - Newhall Ave. to Via Princessa (PM 27.00 to PM 30.722)  • S/B - Sand Canyon Rd. to Agua Dulce Canyon Rd. (PM 33.423 to PM 40.034)  • N/B - Newhall Ave. to Golden Valley Rd. (PM 27.00 to PM 29.675) The purpose of this project is to eliminate bottleneck areas within the project limits, thereby improving the safety and operation of the freeway. Traffic volume is forecast to increase on SR-14 by 2040 and the addition of lanes to fill the gaps between intersections will help accommodate this increase.   The proposed work also includes realigning ramps, widening structures, constructing retaining walls, and modifying drainages. There is a low probability that utility relocations will be needed. Right of Way (ROW) acquisitions will likely be required.
