Description:

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) and City of Charlotte (City) are proposing to construct the Charlotte Transit Center Redevelopment Project located at 310 E. Trade Street in Charlotte, NC. The project would demolish the existing Charlotte Transportation Center (CTC) and construct a new modernized multimodal facility to connect Charlotte’s downtown core to the Charlotte metropolitan area. CATS/City, in partnership with WPTP Brevard Holdings LLC, is proposing a joint development project to construct the new multimodal facility along with high-density mixed-use development known as the Charlotte Multimodal Transit Hub. Phase I of the project would construct a temporary bus transit facility across and southwest of the existing CTC facility, along with a connector road. Phase II of the project would demolish the existing CTC facility and construct a permanent multimodal facility on the current CTC site.
