Description:
Currently, existing Conflans Road is a major collector in the southwest portion of Irving, which ends at SH 161. The proposed improvements for this project would extend existing Conflans Road approximately 0.8-mile west of SH 161, on a new location roadway and bridge structure, to connect to Valley View Lane at F.A.A. Boulevard. The proposed bridge structure would cross over a tributary of Bear Creek. The new location roadway and bridge structure would consist of one 12-foot wide inside travel lane and one 14-foot wide outside shared-use lane (for bicycle accommodation), curb and gutter, and one 12-foot shared use path along the outer lanes of the roadway on the eastbound direction. The proposed shared-use path would meet ADA design criteria. Approximately 16 acres of new right of way and 6.5 acres of temporary easements would be acquired for construction of the project.
