Description:
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), proposes the Conway Ranch Shoulders project on US 395 in order to reduce accidents and improve safety by widening shoulders to 8' and installing rumble strips on the shoulders and centerline, flattening fill and cut slopes on both sides of the highway and lengthening the northbound chain control area by 500 '. The project has two build alternatives (widening to 8' shoulders on both sides of the highway; moving alignment to the west by five feet and widening to full 8' shoulders on the west only) and one no-build alternative.
