Description:
The National Park Service (NPS), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), proposes to rehabilitate a 2.58-mile damaged section of Compton-Erbie Road (County Road 19) and to replace two low-water crossings in the Erbie area. All of the proposed work lies within the Buffalo National River (park), in Newton County, Arkansas. In May of 2015, a major storm event caused widespread damage in the park. Along with repair of the storm damage, improvements are necessary to reduce the likelihood of damage from future storm events.
