Description:
The Humboldt County Public Works Department and Caltrans are working to replace the Honeydew bridge on Mattole Road over the Mattole River in Humboldt County. The existing bridge is structurally deficient, functionally obsolete and does not comply with modern geometric and seismic standards. The purpose of the project is to provide a regional road crossing over the Mattole River that meets modern highway design standards, accommodates local and regional transportation needs, and provides an increased level of public safety for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.
