Description:

The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) proposes to construct a new interchange along Interstate 20 (I-20) at Old Mill Road in Morgan County, Georgia.  Old Mill Road in the vicinity of the new interchange would be widened from a 2-lane road to a 4-lane section with 20-foot raised median and rural shoulders and realigned to the west of its current location. The project would begin approximately 0.38 mile south of I-20 on Old Mill Road, construct a new bridge over I-20 to the west of the existing bridge, and terminate approximately 0.27 mile north of I-20 at a signalized intersection with a newly constructed Frontage Road (constructed under Georgia DOT PI No. 0018363, which would be let to construction in August 2022).  Roundabouts would be constructed on Old Mill Road at the new I-20 ramp terminals. The existing Old Mill Road bridge over I-20 would be deconstructed and a new cul-de-sac would be constructed at the existing Old Mill Road just north of I-20 to provide local access to property owners. The proposed project length is approximately 0.73 miles.
