Description:
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) proposes to create light rail service between the existing Lindbergh and Avondale Stations. This service would connect the major job destinations of the US Centers for Disease Control and Emory University & Hospital to the MARTA rail system. The Clifton Corridor is the largest employment center not served by the MARTA rail system or other high capacity mode of transportation. Currently, significant volumes of trips travel through the Clifton Corridor as well as on connecting roadways; therefore, high-capacity transit service could help accommodate the high trip volumes within an already constrained roadway network.
