Description:

The proposed project would widen SH 249 between the construction limits from six lanes to eight lanes with curb and gutter. The proposed SH 249 roadway would consist of four lanes: a 13-foot-wide inside lane, two 12-foot-wide middle lanes, and a 13-foot-wide outside lane in each direction. Directions of travel would be separated by a raised median varying from 6 to 30 feet wide. Turn bays for left and right movements would be added at major intersections. Ten-foot-wide sidepaths would be constructed on both sides of the roadway near the ROW limits. The proposed ROW would be approximately 162 to 180 feet wide. The proposed improvements would require approximately 30.98 acres of additional ROW.  Additionally, storm sewer facilities, three detention ponds, and intersection improvements are proposed.
