Description:
The proposed project would provide two 12-foot wide travel lanes in each direction separated by a 68-foot wide grassy median. The travel lanes would be bounded by 4-foot wide inside and 10-foot wide outside shoulders. Through the Caney Creek floodplain, the 68-foot wide grassy median would be replaced by a concrete median barrier and 10-foot inside shoulders on each side. There would be grade separations at the crossings of SH 90, SH 75, IH 45, Pee Dee Lane, and the Caney Creek floodplain. Entrance and exit ramps would provide access to SH 90 and SH 75 and new ramps along IH 45 would provide access to and from the proposed roadway. New intersections would also be provided at the proposed roadway crossings at SH 90, SH 75, and IH 45. The proposed ROW would typically be between 300 and 380 feet wide, except at the intersections at SH 21 and the proposed grade separated intersections, where the proposed ROW would be up to 670 feet wide. No bicycle or pedestrian accommodations would be constructed as part of the proposed project. Drainage along the proposed roadway would be provided via open ditches. The proposed project would require 170.1 acres of existing ROW, 4.9 acres of existing drainage easements, 401.1 acres of proposed ROW, and 0.6 acre of driveway license areas to implement. The proposed project would be constructed in stages, dependent upon funding availability.
