Description:

The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 12, in cooperation with the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency (F/ETCA), proposes to materially improve north-south regional mobility and accommodate regional travel demand in South Orange County.

Following the formal scoping period, review of the public and agency input received, and preliminary alternatives evaluation work, Caltrans and F/ETCA mutually agreed to discontinue project development. A letter was submitted to the State Clearinghouse on May 14, 2020 with the request to withdraw the NOP. A Notification Letter was also sent to all Cooperating and Participating Agency representatives on May 14, 2020.

Based on this determination, the NOI for the Project was rescinded (as there is no effort underway to advance the EIS) and a Notice to Rescind the Notice of Intent was published in the Federal Register on June 1, 2020. In addition, with the rescission of the NOI, the Efficient Environmental Review Process under 23 United States Code (USC) 139 was also discontinued.
