Description:

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with the Fresno Council of Governments, Fresno County and City of Fresno, proposes to reconstruct two existing half-interchanges where State Route 99 (SR-99) intersects with American Avenue and North Avenue by expanding them to full interchanges and bringing them into compliance with current Caltrans design standards.

This project lies at the southern boundary of the city of Fresno in Fresno County in the center of the San Joaquin Valley. The interchanges are located within a major transportation corridor that includes State Route 99, the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad line, Golden State Boulevard, and California High-Speed Rail line, which is currently under construction.
