Description:

SR 124/Scenic Highway would be widened to six travel lanes (three in each direction), with approximately a 5 to 27-foot variable raised median and a 5-foot sidewalk or a 10-foot shared-use path (SUP). Approximately 140-250 feet of right-of-way width will be needed to accommodate the minimum width needed for the Preferred Alternative. Both temporary and permanent easements are anticipated; permanent easements would include those needed for utility relocation. The new third northbound travel lane would begin approximately 250 feet north of the US 78 intersection and tie into the existing right-turn lane at Pharrs Road (project ends 200 feet south of Pharrs Road). The intersection at Ronald Reagan Parkway and Pinehurst Road would be upgraded with displaced dual left-turn lanes for the northbound SR 124/Scenic Highway movement onto westbound Ronald Reagan Parkway, forming a single-leg Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) in the southwest quadrant. The southbound SR 124/Scenic Highway left-turn lane onto Pinehurst Road would be extended, and a new right-turn lane from northbound SR 124/Scenic Highway onto Pinehurst Road would be added.
