Description:

The project is a new location, limited-access freeway from I-35 in Denton County extending west across northern Denton County to connect to the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) in Collin County. The DCOL is proposed to be a 6-lane, access-controlled freeway with one-way frontage roads along each side within an average right-of-way width of 500 feet depending on the location and typical section. The typical freeway section would consist of three 12-foot-wide travel lanes in each direction, 12-foot-wide auxiliary lanes as warranted, 10-foot-wide inside and outside shoulders, two 12-foot-wide frontage road lanes on both sides of the mainlanes with a 10-foot-wide shared use path to the outside of the frontage roads. An open grassed median would separate the two sets of mainlanes and the frontage roads from the mainlanes.
