Description:
The proposed project would widen the roadway on SH 286 and FM 70 to construct passing lanes and shoulders. One passing lane section would be constructed in each direction on SH 286. Five passing lane sections would be constructed in each direction on FM 70. Passing lane sections would vary from between 1.7 miles and 3.7 miles in length. In non-passing lane sections, the roadway would be widened to add 10-ft shoulders. In passing lane sections the proposed roadway would include three 12-ft travel lanes with 10-ft shoulders. Ditches would be re-aligned and regraded to accommodate the widening and maintain proper drainage. Culverts would be extended or replaced, where needed, to accommodate the roadway widening.
