ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW AND PERMITTING STATUS
ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE OF ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW AND PERMITTING
The proposed facility would include a six-lane roadway, which includes; three 12-foot wide main lanes in each direction, 12-foot inside and outside shoulders, and two 12-foot wide, one-way frontage lanes in each direction. The proposed ROW width would vary, but would have an average width of 400 feet.
The project would also include work on SH 71 from IH 10 to US 90, for approximately 0.7 miles North of IH 10. Work on SH 71 would include realigning/reconstructing the direct connectors from IH 10 to SH 71, within the center median area. No additional lanes are proposed on SH 71.
The proposed facility would construct a new bridge (on a new alignment) crossing the Colorado River. The proposed bridge would be approximately 1600 feet, grade to grade. The bridge would most likely have 2 columns in the water, similar to the existing bridge. The new bridge would be 1 structure, east bound and westbound traffic would be separated by a raised concrete median.
