Description:

The United States Highway 82 (US 82) project would extend approximately 16 miles from the Fannin County Line to Loop 286 in western Lamar County. The proposed improvements would widen US 82 from a two-lane undivided highway to a four-lane divided highway with a depressed center median. Improvements to intersecting roads and driveways would be implemented at various locations throughout the project. Intersecting facility improvements would not extend beyond the proposed right-of-way (ROW) boundary. The existing US 82 facility lies within 115 feet minimum, 230 feet maximum width ROW. The proposed project would expand the ROW to 227 feet minimum, 503 feet maximum width. Additionally, the proposed project would require approximately 1.89 acres of proposed permanent easements. The drilled shafts for the bridge columns will be installed to an approximate depth of 30 feet in at least one location.
