Description:

The project is necessary because the existing taxiway is at an angle to the runway rather than parallel. This violates specific FAA airport design safety standards. The project will correct the non-compliant configuration by making the last 1,000 feet of taxiway parallel to the runway, providing a holding apron, and providing a connector taxiway that connects to the end of the runway at a 90-degree angle. The project thus replaces the current angled taxiway adjoining Runway 8-26 with a parallel taxiway separated from the runway. The project will involve installation of 2.29 acres of new pavement, removal of 1.99 acres of existing pavement in an area to be restored to mown grass Runway Safety

Areas (RSA), and will retain and reconstruct 0.68 acres of pavement.
