Description:
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (Airports Authority) is proposing to sublease approximately 800 acres of land in the southwest portion of Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD or the Airport) to Dominion Energy for development of a utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) system facility. The proposed solar PV facility would consist of arrays of approximately 350,000 to 400,000 solar PV modules and the associated supports, infrastructure, equipment, and access roads to provide approximately 100 megawatts of electricity to the public electrical grid to be used by Dominion Energy customers including the Airports Authority; along with a small-scale parking lot solar PV system to provide renewable energy directly to the Airport.
