Description:

This project would involve widening the existing World Trade Bridge structure and constructing a new bridge downstream and parallel to the existing structure.  The new bridge structure will extend for a total of approximately 1,479 feet adjacent and parallel to the existing World Trade Bridge, from the International Boundary with Mexico (Rio Grande) to the International Port of Entry (POE). The project will require the acquisition of approximately 5.22 acres of new right-of-way along the south side of the existing bridge. This project will also require three temporary construction easements.  The first temporary construction easement is approximately 0.31 acres and located adjacent to the Rio Grande, just north of the existing World Trade Bridge. The second temporary construction easement would extend from the western terminus of Faskin Boulevard to the shore of the Rio Grande along the edge of the proposed new ROW.  This easement would be approximately 2.85 acres in size.  The third temporary construction easement is approximately 1.11 acres and located adjacent northwest from the western terminus of Faskin Boulevard, along the southbound lane of the existing World Trade Bridge. Together these three temporary easements would total approximately 4.27 acres and would only be utilized to facilitate the construction of the proposed project.  After construction is completed, these three temporary easements would revert back to their current landowner.
