Description:

The Golden Gate Exploration Project, proposed by Resolution Minerals Ltd., proposes a 5-year mineral exploration program.  The Golden Gate proposal is located on the Boise National Forest in the same area as the previously-approved Horse Heaven Exploration Project. The Golden Gate project focuses on exploratory efforts for tungsten and gold, proposing 68 pads, with a maximum of 340 exploration drill holes, each up to 1,800 feet in depth . There will also be up to 2,000 feet of trenching for sample collection. The trenchs will be 5-10 feet wide, up to 20 feet deep, and will be concurrently reclaimed. The project proposes to use existing road systems, requires construction and use of up to ~4.5 miles of existing roads, and up to 1.8 miles of new temporary roads. Overall, the project proposes ~16.6 acres of total disturbance across all drill pads, roads, and trenching. Water used in operations will be sourced from a variety of sources including NFS lands, private, and municipal.

This project is posted in the interest of transparency and response to Executive Order 14241.
