Description:

The Kulning Wind Energy Project (project) proposed by Crescent Peak Renewables (project sponsor) is located on federal lands administered by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Clark County, Nevada.

The proposed project includes a 308-MW wind energy generation plant consisting of up to 68 wind turbine generators, a project substation including switchgear and battery energy storage equipment, accompanying ancillary infrastructure, and a 29-mile transmission line to Sloan Canyon Switching Station.

On March 21, 2023, President Biden signed a proclamation establishing the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. The entirety of the proposed Kulning Wind Energy Project is within the boundary of the national monument.

On August 10, 2023, Crescent Peak Renewables submitted a request to the BLM Las Vegas Field Office to withdraw the applications for the project.

On August 13, 2023, BLM formally accepted the request to withdraw the applications for the project.
