The Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (Permitting Council) released the Recommended Best Practices for Environmental Reviews and Authorizations for Infrastructure Projects for Fiscal Year 2018 on December 1, 2017 in the continuous effort to improve the federal permitting process for infrastructure projects, a key part of Title 41 of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST-41) Act. Permitting Council agencies are encouraged to make improvements consistent with these recommendations for federal environmental reviews and authorizations for infrastructure projects in fiscal year 2018.
